Why Serve?
Serving on an Academy of Aquatic Physical Therapy board or committee gives you an opportunity to be directly involved in shaping the future of aquatic physical therapy across the nation. You will have a voice in changes that affect aquatic physical therapists, how they practice, and future research, education and knowledge sharing.
Advocate for issues that will shape the future of aquatic physical therapy.

Where Do I Begin?
Learn more about what AAPT's board and committees do.
If you're new to AAPT governance, there are many ways you can get involved. Start familiarizing yourself with our goals, processes, and structure. Boards and committees represent an area of expertise or specific constituencies. These groups propose ideas and solutions specific to our mission. Read more about our current leadership composition here.
Find opportunities that fit your areas of expertise and interest.
Look over the board and committees list and talk with others who are involved in AAPT governance to see where your leadership and experience would serve you and others best.
Carefully review the requirements for open positions.
Calls for nominations include specific areas of specialty and diversity variables needed to maintain the leadership overall makeup. Having a few different positions in mind can help you find a position that is a good fit for leadership needs and your interests.
