Call for Volunteers

We are seeking volunteers to participate in the following opportunities within the Academy of Aquatic Physical Therapy:

Clinical Competency Certificate Program Chair

Have you completed the Aquatic Clinical Competency Certificate (CCC) program and want to lead the way for the future success of the program?  Why not become the chair of the CCC program committee?

The chair of the CCC program is responsible for identifying future pool course locations, vetting pool location applications, reviewing instructor and lab assistant applications, reviewing course evaluations, and coordinating a monthly meeting, which is currently set at 7:30 p.m. ET on the first Wednesday of each month.

Lisa Lahr is our current chair and graduated from the course held in Netawaka, KS in 2019! Don't worry, we won't toss you in blindly. You'll shadow Lisa for a year, and then she'll turn things over to you. You have staff and a committee to support you, so don't be afraid to raise your hand.

Clinical Competency Certificate Program Communications Liaison

Have you completed the Aquatic Clinical Competency Certificate (CCC) program and want to help spread the word about this awesome program? If so, this is the right job for you! Your job is to attend the CCC committee meeting once a month and then relay information to our Communications Committee at their meeting. The goal is to make sure the Communications Committee has the most up-to-date information about the certificate program activities so they can effectively advertise it.

Time commitment is about 2 hours per month. The CCC committee meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. ET. The Communications Committee meets the fourth Tuesday each month at 8:30 p.m. ET.

Our current liaison is terming out in October, so please raise your hand now so you can shadow her.

Membership Committee Member

The Aquatics Membership Committee is a FUN group. It is their responsibility to plan the Big Splash (meet and greet/reception) at the Combined Sections Meeting (CSM), as well as to employ member retention and engagement strategies. They meet monthly, usually on the first Monday at 8:15 p.m. ET for 1 hour. Time commitment is about 2 hours per month (1-hour meeting + 1-hour employing member strategies). We welcome all PT, PTA, and Students on this committee!

Please fill out this short form if you are interested in volunteering for any of the positions above.
