Dori Maxon, PT, MEd
For the month of September let's highlight and show some love to one of our aquatic members Dori Maxon,PT, MEd (PCS 1995-2005). She is a Director of a nonprofit which provides accessible community-based aquatics to children with special needs. She has been involved in aquatic PT for 30 years. She began to get involved with aquatics when working with special needs populations in the water as a swim instructor, lifeguard. In grad Dori did her thesis on Water Exercise for Adults Recovering from Strokes. Then continued working in the water while in PT school, working for the City Parks and Rec developing programs for children with special needs and worked with adults with MS in the water. After becoming a PT, she continued with her passions of working with kids and aquatics and started a nonprofit and continued with it today. What Dori enjoys most about aquatic PT is the ability to bring joy and happiness to clients, and the intellectual challenge of working in a dynamic environment. Thank you Dori for sharing a little bit of yourself with us.
