CSM Aquatic Programming Spotlight: Principles of Aquatic Exercise and Benefits for Training/Rehabilitation of the Performance Athlete

   



This session teaches how pediatric aquatic therapy leads to improved safety and more independence for swimming. Participants will learn how a combination of therapy techniques are used to overcome obstacles and roadblocks faced by individuals with varied diagnoses. Gain insight into how to help your aquatic therapy clients transition into swimming and enjoyment of the water for recreation and leisure activities.
 

Primary Speaker: Katie C Rodrick MS, ATC, PTA, CSCS

Katie has over 15 years of experience in sports medicine and orthopedic rehabilitation with diverse patient populations, specializing in performing arts/dance medicine, aquatic rehabilitation, and lower extremity rehabilitation. She has given presentations on aquatic therapy and dance medicine locally for Cleveland Clinic Rehabilitation and Sports Therapy and nationally and internationally for the International Association of Dance Medicine and Science.
