Nonmember Affiliate Program

The APTA Academy of Aquatic Physical Therapy is a section of the American Physical Therapy Association, and the nation’s largest individual membership professional organization representing 900+ aquatic physical therapists, aquatic physical therapist assistants, and students of aquatic physical therapy.

Our affiliate members practice in a wide range of settings, including hospitals, outpatient clinics, people’s homes, schools, sports and fitness facilities, workplaces, nursing homes, and continuing care retirement communities. The APTA Academy of Aquatic Physical Therapy members are diverse but share a common focus on championing aquatic physical therapy to optimize lifelong movement, function, and wellness.

The Affiliate Program aims to expand our network by including international physical therapists (PTs) and physical therapist assistants (PTAs), as well as a variety of national and international rehabilitation providers to provide access to information, products, services, and meetings, as well as to inform and connect affiliates to the Academy of Aquatic Physical Therapy for collaboration within and beyond the physical therapy profession.

Two Types of Affiliates:

1. International Affiliate: Must be a PT or PTA licensed in their respective countries.
2. Rehabilitation Provider Affiliate: Includes physicians, occupational therapists, speech and language pathologists, respiratory therapists, nurse practitioners (NPs), physician assistants (PAs), nurses, exercise physiologists, strength and conditioning specialists, athletic trainers, kinesiologists, and other professionals as reviewed and accepted by the board.

Eligibility:
Proof of licensure and/or certification in respective fields is required.

Fees:
International Affiliate fees will be stratified based on income levels of their countries according to the World Bank Country and Lending Groups:

• $75.00 for lower-income countries.
• $150.00 for higher-income countries.

Rehabilitation Provider Affiliate fees will be $200.00.

Membership Term:
Membership is valid for 365 days after payment is received. Members may renew annually.
